Who am I?
I’m just a man who has had the opportunity to learn mixology from experience, study, and fellow bartenders. Born and raised in New York City, I started my mixology by practicing random cocktails and reading various books during my college days. When I acquired my first job my knowledge was enough to make me a decent bartender. Fortunately with the critique and tips from my fellow peers I began to excel at my work. Now 10 years later, I work in luxury hotels and speakeasies using all the knowledge and experience I’ve gathered from my studies and my peers.
Why should you learn from me?
No one else has a passion for the craft and a passion to teach others who want to learn the craft as much as I do. Anyone has the ability to remember a recipe and produce a result, but there is more to the craft than simply shaking a drink. With my 10+ years of knowledge and experience I can teach you to not be just a bartender but to be a well respected mixologist.
Should I just go to bartending school?
If that’s what you think is best then you should. I am not the one to tell anyone what they should or shouldn’t do. However; bartending school is a bit of a meme within the industry. Many bartenders struggle to find a job afterward and once they do, they are more than likely to be useless behind the bar. Bartender schools charge hundreds to thousands of dollars just to leave their graduates unsupported in the field.
